Learning from 13 expert presenters was a great experience, and networking opportunities made it both fun and fruitful event. We invite you to click on the images below and encourage you to attend our 2017 Summit to be held inJune 2018.
Summit 2015 was filled with thought-provoking, very informative sessions focused on Organizational Health & Wellness, prevention and best Disability Management practices. The Speakers and their interactive sessions focused on a holistic approach to disability prevention based on a Bio-Psycho-Socio-Economic model. Our emcee, Alan Kaufman, did an amazing job keeping us in order, for which we were very grateful.
Through the initiative called Employer and Employees: Saving Lives Through Organ Donation & Community Wellness, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, British Columbia & Yukon Branch, would like to engage BC employers to make it a standard practice to offer their employees an opportunity to register their wishes for organ donation. Diversified Rehabilitation Group's CEO, Derek Sienko, is leading the charge, being the first BC employer to adopt a voluntary organ donor registration program as a Human Resources practice, engaging his employees to register their wishes and is sharing the organ donor registration message amongst his network. Mr. Sienko is committed to encouraging hundreds of other companies to do the same. We used the 2015 Summit in Kelowna as an opportunity to launch our employee engagement campaign with a goal to save the lives of those waiting for an organ transplant. The Networking event with dinner and organic wine tasting at the Summerhill Winery was amazing. We were greeted by a beautiful sunset and a spectacular sparkling wine sabering presentation, where a knife or saber is used to uncork the bottle. This was followed by a variety of wine tasting, dinner with great conversations, and making new friendships. What a perfect way to end the first day of the OHW Summit.
A group of brave souls presented a play, showing off their hidden talents and eliciting much laughter from the audience.. Many thanks to Diversified CEO Derek Sienko, Diversified Manager Vocational Rehabilitation Services Kasia Rynkowski, Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant Alison Nobbs, and Monica Kyveris from Xilo.
The skit was then followed by Derek's presentation on Reclaiming Organizational Wellness.
The Summit ended with a Panel presentation: The Future of Organizational Health & Wellness led by Graham Lowe, offering a very informative discussion among the presenters with great takeaways for our Delegates.
The Summit ended with a surprise birthday cake for Diversified CEO Derek Sienko, celebrating his 50th Birthday, with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" filling the room for an outstanding leader.
A big thank you to our MC, Presenters, Delegates, Sponsors, and Exhibitors for joining us and making Organizational Health & Wellness Summit 2015 a true success. We look forward to many more to come and we hope to see you back. We promise the highest quality of learning experience and lots of fun too!
